If you’ve logged onto social media or your favorite beauty website recently, you’ve probably heard about jade rolling. The Chinese beauty technique has taken the world by storm with influencers and skincare gurus alike promoting it.
I've been jade rolling for about five months and it has become a daily staple of my beauty routine. It's the first thing I do every morning, before even washing my face. I purchased my jade roller from Amazon for $11, click here to shop it.

According to the history of healing stones, jade is meant to protect against negative energy, anxiety, and fatigue by keeping your chi, or energy, balanced. If crystal therapy isn’t your thing, jade rolling’s benefits reach much farther.
Rolling a jade stone across your face and muscles activates your lymphatic drainage system, which helps eliminate your body of waste or toxins. By promoting lymphatic drainage, you are decreasing swelling in your face, plumping your skin to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, and allowing a brighter complexion to shine through.
Before I began jade rolling, I would wake up in the morning with a puffy face and swollen eyelids. This happens to most of us as we sleep and our faces are pressing against our pillow. I would pat cold water onto my face to reduce the puffiness but it would only help so much. Now, my jade roller is the first item I use in the morning.

For best results, I recommend refrigerating the roller overnight because cold helps fight inflammation. After rolling the large side of the jade roller along my neck, chin, cheeks, and forehead, and the smaller side of the roller under and over my eyes for 5-10 minutes, I notice an immediate difference.
My skin and eyes appear less swollen and it looks like I’ve actually lost weight in my face. Another benefit that I’ve noticed but did not expect is a brighter, more glowing complexion.
Many people recommend using a jade roller after applying your favorite serum or moisturizer because it will push the products deeper into your skin. Personally, I don’t use a product before rolling but you have to find what works best for you. If you suffer from migraines, people look to jade rolling to eliminate headaches and provide relief from any kind of pressure buildup.
There are many counterfeit jade rollers on the market, which use a fake jade crystal, so be careful before making a purchase.
